Jawor's Quantization Matrices

WERSJA POLSKA TUTAJ / POLISH VERSION HERE

Jawor's 1CD Matrix is intended as a replacement for the H.263 and HVS - Good Picture matrices. It should give good results when encoding natural movies at low bitrates.
Download it from here (if the file opens in your browser and you see garbage, click Back, right-click the link, then choose Save target as...).

Test results were published in this thread at Doom9's Forum (English).

A COMPARISON

Jawor's 2CD Matrix is intended for encoding at high bitrates. The goal is to keep more fine image detail than the Six of Nine matrices do. It was intended to use the zigzag scan order of coefficients, but due to a bug in Custom Quantization Matrix Editor the ordering of coefficients was improper. This matrix is still valid and can be safely used, it's just the ordering of coefficients that's wrong.

Jawor's ZSM (Zigzag Scan Matrix) is intended for encoding at high bitrates. The goal is to keep more fine image detail than the Six of Nine matrices do. It's a bugfix release (Jawor's 2CD Matrix contained a bug in the ordering of coefficients).

It was designed by ordering coefficients using the zigzag scan order.

These matrices are distributed in Xvid-readable form, but you can feel free to test them with ffVfW, CCE, TMPGEnc and any other program or codec that allows you to use custom quantization matrices.
All matrices were created with Custom Quantization Matrix Editor by *LigH*.
